It is time for a Parental Rights Constitutional Amendment in Texas. A Parental Rights Amendment is the best way to ensure parental rights are protected for future generations.
Our goal is to gather more than 50,000 signatures to put pressure on our elected officials, and to do that, we need your help.
Right now, the rights of Texas parents rest almost entirely in the hands of unelected federal judges. These unelected officials come and go regularly and could change their minds on parental rights at any time.
Passing a Parental Rights Amendment to the Texas Constitution would:
- Significantly shrink the power of the federal government over questions of parental rights.
- Shift authority to elected Texas judges rather than being only in federal constitutional case law.
- Ensure the protection of parental rights in the future because an amendment to the state constitution is extremely difficult to repeal.
To protect parental freedom once and for all, Family Freedom Project (FFP) is championing the Texas Parental Rights Constitutional Amendment. We are working with legislators, coalition partners, and legal experts to get this amendment passed.
To add an amendment to the Texas Constitution, the proposed amendment has to pass the Texas House and Texas Senate, each by a two-thirds vote. The proposed amendment will then be placed on the ballot and must be ratified by a majority of Texas voters.
This historic piece of legislation, which must be passed in 2023, will secure basic parental rights for generations to come!
But we can’t do this alone. We need your help. Can we count on you to join us?
We must send a loud message to Austin that Texas families support the Parental Rights Amendment.
