Unfinished Business: FFP’s Unpassed Priorities in the Texas Legislature

2023-08-02T18:43:22+00:00

Recently, we have been celebrating the parental rights bills the Texas Legislature passed, which the Governor signed into law to protect Texas families. However, not every priority of the Family Freedom Project became law. Here are 2 priorities that did not pass the legislature that we will continue to work on in the future: HB 1086: HB 1086 would limit the use of ex-parte hearings by CPS to force parents to allow CPS access to the home passed the House by a vote of 131-7 but failed to have a hearing in the Senate. Another evidence of that is the fact that several Texas Constitutional Amendments have been filed and are moving in both the Texas House and Senate. The process for amending the Texas Constitution requires the support of ⅔ of both the Texas House and [...]

Every Election is the Most Important, Including This One

2024-01-03T17:26:41+00:00

Parents all across the country are shocked to see the attack on our children and parental rights. However, all these issues have one thing in common. The decision to allow such things in our society is made by officials that are elected by us, the voters. One of the most important things we can do to protect our children is to vote for people who will oppose such policies and will work to protect our families. Parental rights are under attack by increasingly aggressive, invasive, and powerful outside forces. Parents all across this state and the country have been [...]
